I have been such a slacker lately with updating my blog. Here are a couple pics that we took in Twin Falls last weekend with Boston (Craig and April's youngest).

Life is so great right now! I'm balancing work, baby and keeping the house somewhat clean and Casey's job is going great. We are so lucky and have been blessed so much. We have had some unexpected and tragic events happen the last two weeks to close friends and family and it has helped us to put things into perspective. I am so grateful for our Heavenly Father who watches over us and shows His tender mercy on a daily basis. I'm so grateful for my family and friends and hope to continue to cherish every minute we get to spend with them. I am also so grateful that Families are Forever and Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. We sure did. We got spoiled and it was so great to have Atticus with us this year. (this time last year, I was puking and spent most of the time nausaus in bed) so it was much, much better this year!

Flood in Mesquite - 12.21.10

My parents were going to the BSU game in Las Vegas so I decided to go with them and stay with my grandparents in Mesquite. Calling it an adventure is an understatement :) It was raining really hard for the last couple of days and workers had been building a levee, putting up cement blocks and doing everything they could to keep the water from the Virgin River to not come into Mesquite. Unfortunately all their hard work did not pay off cause that levee broke and 2 hours later this is what it looked like. Luckily my grandparents house was okay but it was inches within getting into their house.

We had to walk in this muddy water up passed our knees to get to our car. I had Atticus in the baby carrier and Carlos (dog) in my hand.

This was around noon before the levee broke. I was so glad I was there to help them prepare the house and lift all the furniture off the floor. We were evacuated for two days.

We had a Holden Family Reunion in Fairview, UT on September 18th, 2010. It was so fun to see all of the fam. I went up the week before so I could out with my dad's immediate family.

OUR FIRST FAMILY PHOTO. ABOUT 1 HOUR AFTER HE WAS BORN

MY WATER BROKE AROUND 1:30PM ON FRIDAY THE 13TH AT OUR HOUSE. I STILL WASNT SURE IF IT WAS REALLY HAPPENING BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY CONTRACTIONS OR PAIN. WE FINALLY WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AROUND 5PM AND SURE ENOUGH THEY SAID I WAS IN LABOR. I STARTED GETTING CONTRACTIONS AROUND 6PM AND THEY WERE MANAGEABLE. WE WALKED AROUND A LOT AND THAT HELPED WITH THE PROCESS. THE CONTRACTIONS STARTED GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. I GOT IN THE JACUZZI AND WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN. I WANTED THE EPIDURAL BUT THEY THOUGHT I WAS ONLY DILATED TO A 4 SO I WAITED ABOUT ANOTHER HOUR (A VERY LONG, PAINFUL HOUR). THEY CHECKED ME AND I WAS DILATED 7CM. THE NURSE WAS SO SURPRISED AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED TO GET THE EPIDURAL. ONCE THE EPIDURAL WAS ADMINISTERED I WAS THINKING WE WOULD GET TO REST FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT SHE CHECKED ME AGAIN AND I WAS FULLY DILATED AND SHE SAID THAT IT WAS TIME TO PUSH. WE WERE ALL SO SURPRISED AGAIN. P.S. THE EPIDURAL WAS FANTASTIC AND HELPED WITH THE CONTRACTIONS SO MUCH! MY DOCTOR WAS OUT OF TOWN SO WE HAD THE ON CALL DOCTOR AND HE WAS AMAZING. I ONLY HAD TO PUSH FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND HALF. I COULD FEEL MORE THAN I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD BUT THAT HELPED A LOT WITH THE PUSHING. FINALLY OUR SWEET BABY BOY WAS HERE AND IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. THE ENTIRE PROCESS WAS ONLY 10 HOURS AND WORTH EVERY SECOND!

WOW!! Is it really the middle of July? Okay so obviously I have been slacking major on updating the blog. This picture pretty much describes the last 3 months of my life. I have been on a plane and away from home! I had to get all my traveling done earlier this summer since our little boy is growing bigger and bigger in my tummy and not allowing me to fly anymore. I can honestly say right now that I HATE flying, airports and planes. Throwing up on the plane and being so extremely uncomfortable in very tight quarters has been a regular occurrence these last couple months (Not fun at all).

So it hasn't been all sickness and work. I still managed to have a little fun!!!

Jo and I at Balboa Park, San Diego on a Sunday stroll. It is nice to not have to travel for work anymore (until next summer) but I am going to miss everyone in the offices and all my friends and family that I got to see or stay with while I was traveling.

Okay, so I am eating my words from all the years that I made fun of dog people (especially my mom and her dogs) and now I have become one of them!!

I even caught myself wishing Carlos was in the car with me when I saw another dog in someone else's car.

I am still in disbelief but it has happened.......this dog has made me an official dog person.

I am in love with this cute dog. He is so sweet and how can you not adore that cute face?

P.S. Are you liking the hair cut? It's a little short but it's growing on me.

Carlos

As most of you know I am not really a dog person (in fact, not even someone who really likes animals) but we bit the bullet and now have an adorable dog. He's a miniature pom and Casey named him Carlos. I know Carlos for a dog name? But it actually fits him and did you really expect a normal dog name from Casey? Ha Ha. He is a dog after my own heart...he loves to sleep! He sleeps all the time, it's so funny and he's even cuter when he's asleep. He is a year and half, already potty trained and doesn't chew on things, what more could you ask for? I really never thought I would say this ...... I love this dog!

Gardening?

Okay all you very talented friends of mine I need a little help! I really want to plant a garden this spring but I really need all the help I can get. I have never done this before and to be honest I have killed any plant that I have ever had before (including a bamboo plant which are supposed to be the easiest plants to keep alive). I know, what am I thinking? I guess I am trying to be a little ambitious here so we will see how it goes.

So... I would love to hear all of your wisdom and ideas before I embark on this (could be disastrous) adventure. I am thinking I want to plant carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, watermelon, strawberries, maybe lettuce, onions, bell peppers and garlic. For those of you that know me, I don't even eat half of these things but I have to think about my husband on this one cause I would have a garden of just strawberries and watermelon if it was my choice :)

This is what I am working with here. It's not tons of space but I don't plan on planting tons of each item. The previous owners of this house started a garden but they haven't lived here for over a year so I am assuming I should just start fresh and dig up everything that is already there.

It looks pretty pathetic right now if you ask me.....so I will be praying for a miracle!!!

Okay, so lets hear it everybody and see what I am really getting into.

It's Official...We are finally having a baby!!!!

This is our little one at 13 weeks!!!!

I know ultrasound pics usually doesn't even look like a baby but I'm partial to this one so I think he/she is adorable already :-)

I am almost 16 weeks right now and unfortunately still sick but I know it is all worth it!!

We find out on March 31st (hopefully) if we are having a boy or a girl so I will keep you posted!!

P.S. We are not going to be naming the baby KC (or anything that sounds like it) Ha Ha!

San Diego with Jo Jo

I spent a day with Joanna down in San Diego when I was working in LA. It was so great to hang out with Jo and Blair and be back in my own stomping ground for a day.

We walked around Balboa Park, played some volleyball, went to the beach, played games and of course tons of girl talk.

Thanksgiving - Mesquite NV

We had everyone (except one) on my dad's side down in Mesquite for Thanksgiving this year. We also had two additions to the family this year too (Baby Conner and Baby Kenlee). They are so cute and we all had so much fun hanging out and eating lots of food.

Zeitgeist - Half Marathon - Boise, ID - 11.7.09

I still haven't figure out why I do this to myself but I do. I ran a half marathon in Boise last week and it was a killer. It was so, so hard. The hills were never ending. In the first pic you can see the hill that I am running down. The hill that I just came up though was even steeper. Over the course of the 13 miles, 5 of them were up hill. Again... why do I do this to myself :)

I am smiling here but I was in a lot of pain.

A. I need some new shoes and B. I did not train for hills at all.

Finally...the finish line!

This is one my favorite pictures because it captures exactly how I was feeling at the end of the race. I was so happy it was over and relieved I could still feel my legs.

Overall it was a fun race. I ran it slower than I wanted to but all I wanted to do was finish so I was satisfied. Next year, I will hopefully be ready for those hills a little better though :)

Happy Birthday to the best husband in the WORLD!!!

So look at Casey's outfit. The night before him and his brother Craig decided they wanted to start the sweat suit trend. They bought the ugliest sweat suits and he wore it out in public and at his party. (I guess I wouldn't expect anything less).

Craig, April, Casey and I went to Vegas the weekend before. Of course April and I went shopping all day Saturday. We got the same sweater and accidently both wore it for Casey's party. We had to take a pic. This is my new favorite sweater now.

Okay so this is a story....Casey being so silly really wants a mini horse to have at our new house. Actually he wants 2. And to be named Hank and Roger.

A mini horse..really? Who does that? Oh yeah, my husband.

Well, obviously he hasn't gotten one yet (I will let you know if it really happens). My mom saw this stuffed animal horse at a store and bought it for his birthday. It makes horse noises and actually sounds pretty real. Well we hid it and pushed the button so the horse sound would come on when he came up to get his present. It was hilarious, we were laughing so hard. I guess this one will have to work until he gets his real one :)

Chicago. Go Cubbies!

Casey and I went to Chicago the end of August for our 4 year anniversary. We fell in love with Chicago. We can't wait to go back. We went to two Cubs games, ate at great restaurants, saw some friends and did an architecture cruise on Lake Michigan.

Casey's dream come true!

This was on our architecture cruise on Lake Michigan. Chicago has some amazing buildings and great history. We loved learning about the city!

Okay, so this is on top of Sears Tower (now known as the Willis Tower). They have this ledge that you can walk out on the top floor. It's so so scary. It amazes me how people built these skyscrapers. I could never image being up this high and actually outside working on a building.

This is as close as Casey would get. It was so funny!

They won both games and had a grand slam on Saturday!

We had the best time in Chicago. We loved every minute!! We are in the process of planning our next trip :)

L.A.- July 25th

Again, I was traveling for work in L.A. and at the end of the week Casey, Jo and Blair came up and we went to a Dodgers game. It was so fun. They won in the 9th inning!

This guy was freak'n hilarious!! He would dance and sing to all the songs that were playing, he was serious too (or super drunk). We were laughing so hard the whole time. He was almost more entertaining than the game.

I got to go to the L.A. temple during the week. It is such a huge temple, I had no idea. It was so beautiful. I loved it!

D.C Round 2

I went back to DC for work right after the 4th and went to the Museums and visited my college friend Liz. I had such a great time but I only had 1 day to do the museums so I had to book it all day. I went to 4 of them in 8 hours (my feet were killing me). I went to The American History Museum, The Air and Space Museum, The Holocaust Museum and the Natural History Musuem. I was too depressed to take any pics at the Holocaust Museum and my feet hurt too bad to take any pics at the Air and Space so sorry, I only have a couple of pics for ya.

Liz and I went on a Bike ride and she took me to this cool island where you can only walk (no bikes or motor vehicles).

We stopped and took a pic on our way (mostly because I was dying and needed a break so it was a good excuse) Liz, totally kicked my butt that day. (This is the day after the museums too so I was so I was already dying. I was so so sore after that weekend)

T.R.O.D

Okay folks, I am playing some catch here. (I've been on the road a lot and haven't had time to blog but here is a couple things that have been going).

Trailer Race Of Destruction aka T.R.O.D

This is one of the highlights in Twin Falls at the Speedway every summer. They actually had it on the same night as the Pepsi 125 so we had an extra fun time. The rules of the race are as follows: Your vehicle has to have some sort of trailer attached to it and you go around the track hitting all the other vehicles. The last one standing wins! And it's more than awesome!

This year the Swensen's entered a car. I couldn't get the logo very good because they were driving by too fast. You can kind of read it though.

Island Park/Yellowstone

We had the best time at the Heider's cabin in Island Park. Heiders, Schroeders and us had such a wonderful time. We chilled a lot, went to Yellowstone, went four wheeling, put together a puzzle and of course ate a lot.

There are buffalo behind us to the left but they are almost to far to see.

Aubrey's Baptism

Most of the gang went to Temecula, CA for Aubrey's Baptism (niece). I can't believe she is already 8 years old. It was so fun to hang out with the family and share a special time in Aubrey's life. I miss my Swensen's in So Cal already.

50th Anniversary

This last weekend was my grandparents 50th Anniversary. 50 years!!! I can't even believe it and I am so excited to one day have my own 50th anniversary. There were over 300 people there and it all went fantastic.

When I was working in DC I took the weekend and visited one of my bestest friends in the whole world in Richmond, VA. We had such a great time. Miss you guys already.

Kim and I went on this great bike ride. About half way through it started pouring. I mean pouring. It was hard to even see when we were trying to get back. It was a blast.

We went to this beautiful garden. (I totally forgot the name of it, but ask Kim, she'll know). It was this family's property back in the day and they turned it into a beautiful park.

Downtown Richmond, VA. It's a really neat city. Lots of old, historical buildings.

Our Florida Vaca!

Casey and I took a "graduation - the bar is over" vacation to Florida. We went to Disney World, Lake Butler to visit Nana and his mom's family and then to St. Augustine to a beach house! The whole trip was wonderful. Here are just a few pics that we took!

We had such a wonderful vacation. It was good to relax and not think about school or work!!! (besides the part when I got sun poisoning. At least it was at the end of the trip and not the beginning)

Life in Idaho

It has been an adventure moving back to Idaho but it is so nice to be closer to our family. The weather is something I am not completely used to yet but I do love to seasons so that will be nice.

Here are a couple of things that I love in Idaho that San Diego did not have:

1. Sonic, Sonic, Sonic (happy hour from 2-4 is the best. I could have a Diet Cherry Limeade 2 times a day)

2. I love the doghouse stop lights that let you turn left if there is no oncoming traffic. (you know the ones with the arrow and then when when every one is going straight you can turn left if no one is coming)

3. All my shows come on an hour earlier

4. Of course hanging out with my cute nieces and nephews in Rupert and Burley

5. The water!! It's fantastic here. I am so glad I do not have to drink bottle water all day long!

6. And last but not least The Great Wall. My favorite dive, chinese restaurant! I have already eaten there twice!!!!

A) you get in free, B) everyone in the whole park tells you Happy Birthday, I have never heard it so much in one day or probably in my entire life combined and C) you will never meet more people that have the same birthday as you!!! It really was one of my top birthdays yet! Thanks to everyone that made it so special. Jenn, Josh and Emily you are the best dates for Disneyland!

M-I-C-K-E-Y. I don't know if many of you have waited in this line but it was way too long and then they give you like 2 seconds to take a pic. Not worth the wait in my opinion. My pic is all blurry too because they took it so fast. Anyway, it was a perfect day!!!! A great way to start my 25th year!!!

(There are not any pics of Casey in here because he did not get to enjoy any of the fun. The poor kid has locked himself in our apartment for the last 2 weeks. The bar is on Monday so we are celebrating my birthday after the bar in Florida in 2 weeks!!! Everyone wish him luck)

Here is me like a little kid all over again. One of the best parts about the day was that I get another day free to be used in the next 30 days because I am a southern cali resident. Too bad we are moving in a week but I think I can find a way to go again :)

Favorite places in San Diego

OF COURSE THE BEACH

Although I don't really like going to the beach to hang out because I get way too sandy but I do love taking pictures of it. The ocean is amazing! It is hard to even comprehend really. I did try surfing (I totally sucked) but it was fun, now boogie boarding I could do all day. If I am at the beach I want to be in the water but just laying out on the beach is not my thing. I really do prefer lakes because you are semi clean when you get out not all salty and sandy. I know start the ridiculing now, but it is just not my favorite.

HARBOR AND CORONADO ISLAND

You can ride the ferry over to Coronado Island and ride these awesome bikes. They can hold four adults and you ride along the beach. It is actually a really hard workout but by the time you stop laughing you are already done with the loop. My grandma was hilarious on these and you get to see lots of seals along the harbor. Good times!

PETCO PARK

When Hells Bells starts playing for Trevor Time and the stadium goes wild it is a sight I will never forget. Jo Jo - that summer was so amazing, I wish we could do it again!!!

SEA WORLD!

This place is one of the best places around. I was trying to count how many times I have been there since we lived here and it was over 20 so I just stopped

counting after that. A little pathetic but fabulous at the same time. We went there once just to ride this ride and then we left. Park passes is the only way to go when you live so close.

Graduation Lunch

The Group!

Most of our family came down for Casey's graduation right before Christmas. It was so wonderful to have every one here. It had been raining the whole week before so I was so nervous that everyone would come from snowy Idaho and just get more crummy weather but we managed to pull it off. It was wonderful and sunny the day of graduation. Note the ribbon Casey is wearing in the picture. It says, "I made it!"My mom gave it to him after he graduated and he did take if off for a whole week. So cute! Most of the fam had to leave the next day because of the snow storms going through Utah but everyone made it safe and sound back home.

So my mom sent me a pic of all the snow at her house yesterday and I just don't know if I can take the blunge and live back in the snow! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it but after living in sunny San Diego it is going to be a big adjustment. Wish me luck!

San Diego Temple

That has been one of my favorite places in San Diego. I have been blessed by being called to an ordinance worker for the past year. I am really going to miss it when we move. It is an amazing temple and I have been so blessed by getting to go there every week. It is great to know that you can go there and escape the world for a couple of hours.

New Year's Resolution

I really am pathetic at this blogging thing. I just can't get with the program. I will post some pics a little later but right now I just wanted to tell everyone that I am alive :) just bare with me, I will try to get better at this. I just made a New Year's Resolution that I am going to start blogging a little more than I have in the past. (at least once a year, ha ha).

I just wanted to give a shout out to all my cute friends that check my blog and then realize I am a loser because I never have any new posts... this one is for you :)

A quick update on our lives:

1. Casey graduation from Thomas Jefferson School of Law on Dec. 20th. (Whit I still have your announcement in our car, so sorry I ran out of stamps)

2. All our family was here (expect the fabulous Jo and our cute niece Brooklynn) so it was a full house and such a fun time. We went to California Adventures one day, had a big luncheon at the beach after the graduation, exchanged some Christmas presents, and laughed and laughed. Most of Casey's family was only here for about 2 days. The weather put a little damper on everything :(

3. Casey got a job in Boise, ID so we are moving back the end of Feb. It is a bittersweet thing. I love, love San Diego. (I am going to miss this nice weather) but it will be so nice to be around more family back in Idaho.

4. I get to keep my job when we move back. A huge plus!!! Luckily I will be able to work from home and do lots of traveling. We are opening 4 new branches so I will be helping train and open up the offices in Washington DC, Chicago, Roley North Carolina, and Arizona. (Kim I have to see when I am in washington. No matter what. I missed you and Milah so much over the holiday break)

THE HOLIDAYS!!!

This year I have been extra excited about the Holidays!!! I have always loved them but this year it is more exciting than ever. Casey and I are going to Mesquite for Thanksgiving with my dad's family. Anybody that knows them, knows it is a great ball of fun. (that's an understatement). I haven't seen most of them in about a year so I am really excited to see them again!!! I just can't wait. But then it makes me sad to think it is going to be here and gone before I know it and I don't want it to be over so quickly. I don't know what it is but I can't even believe that 2007 is actually almost gone. It has gone extremely fast this year. Okay so I just wanted to express to everyone that I am overly excited about the holidays. Only 2 more days of work and I am gone for the weekend. I tried to put a cute picture on with this for Thanksgiving but it wouldn't attach for some reason!!! So sad. I will keep on trying! Love ya all

Okay so here it goes... I really put some thought into this but unfortunately I found out that I am not a very interesting person! 1. I love YOGA!!! I started it when I was 18 right after high school but got into it more in college. I got certified when I was 20 and did yoga for 18 hours in just 2 days and loved every minute of it. I love teaching it and practicing it! Sometimes I just crave it! Right now one of my classes is on Mondays so now I can actually say, I look forward to Mondays!! 2. I am the worst car parker in the entire world!! Not even kidding. Even from day one in Driver's-Ed I was completely terrible!! I mean there has got to some kind of medication that can help me with this. I seriously have even practiced multiply times. I can't park parallel, in small spaces, in big spaces...anywhere! It is a very, very frustrated thing but I just can't do it! I thought I was a bad parking in Idaho or Utah but out here the spaces are like 1/3 in size and so it is just a catastrophe. 3. I am a really picky eater. I have been since day 1 (so says my mom). I think it has to do with the only child thing so my parents didn't always make me eat everything but even when they did we would stay at the table for 5 or so hours and I still would not eat it! Normal things that are on the top five that I will not eat are: - Potatoes!!! I hate any kind of potatoes- except for greasy,thin, really crispy fries. - Applesauce. I think it tastes that baby food and makes me so grossed out!! - Stuffing at Thanksgiving - it is so mushy and just discusting. I can't even look at it! - Bananas - I haven't had a banana since I was.. I can't even remember the last time I had a banana. That is how much I can't stand them. They again are super mushy. -Cooked veggies, especially peas - We fed the missionaries a couple weeks ag0 and I made Hawaiian Haystacks. Casey loves peas on them. The minute, literally, that they left our house I threw the rest of the in the trash and took the trash out. The whole time I was just consentrating on when I could get those peas out of my house! The smell, the texture the look...yuck! I know I am totally weird and this really, really bugs Casey and my dad! They can't even watch me eat sometimes because I have to look at my food and investigate. First make sure nothing is touching and then look at every bite before I eat. Just putting this in writing is making me realize that I am a pretty annoying eater. 4. I 110% HATE doing dishes! I can not stand doing them. If I do them right after we have eaten then I can somewhat do them without gaging but it still is not fun at all. I am sure most people don't like doing dishes but this is one of my least favorite things. Luckily my wonderful husband does them most of the time but this is something that I completely dread. When I do the dishes I usually gag multiple times, I have big long yellow gloves and it takes me forever!!! What can you say I can't do it all!!! HaHaHa I think all my friends on here have already been tagged so anyone reading this that hasn't done it, get on it!!! Love ya all

The San Diego Fires!

Sorry guys, I am not very good at this blog thing. I have been spending most of my time on facebook so I am trying to make the transistion into this. I know I have some old pics on here...I will get some updated asap. Things in life are going really good right now!!! I can't wait for the HOLIDAYS!!! I am so so excited!! I get to see my wonderful family and SNOW!!! I miss snow so much. Today I actually had to put on the air conditioning. (I am not complaining because it is so nice but it is just so different!) Jo I will be thinking of you in the morning when you can't even eat your breakfast because you are so cold and I am asking myself if I should wear shorts or capris today!! Love ya sis!

Well I told you last time that I would have some better stories. We unfortunately got evacuated from our apartment a couple weeks ago with the fires in San Diego. I was all ready and packed to go Monday morning just in case we needed to leave but didn't worry too much and then we actually got the evacuation call the worrying stepped it up a little. I was actually thinking what if our place burned down...to my suprise I pretty much doubled in what I was bringing. Which was very fun when we finally got back in 3 days later and I had to unload the car. you would think we were moving in again!! Ha Ha. Well that is my exciting story for this time!!

MY FIRST

Hello everyone!!! This is my first blogging experience. I am currently at work and should probably get back to it soon. Lately I have been obsessed with my yoga class. I wish there were more classes a week. I am also very glad that the new shows of the season have started. The Office, Hero's and Bones is probably my top 3 but there are a lot of great ones out this year. I have been trying not to watch very much TV so I have to pick and choose which ones are the absolute best! I have also found a new program on my computer to edit my pics and do fancy, fun things with them. Jo you will get to experience some of my work hopefully in a couple days..I put it in the mail today!!! That is about all for today but since this is my first time hopefully the next ones will be a little more spicier!! love ya all
